Carrick-on-Suir Kayak Club, known as Carrick Paddlers, was established in 2022 following a series of community meetings aimed at promoting kayaking and canoeing in the area. The club was formed with the support of the Carrick-on-Suir Lions Club and other local organizations, including the South Tipperary Sports Partnership. The club’s mission is to develop local interest in kayaking and canoeing, offering training and organizing events along the River Suir.

Affiliations: The club plans to affiliate with Canoeing Ireland, the national governing body for canoeing and kayaking sports in Ireland.
Training: Initial training sessions for instructors and interested members are held at the Sean Kelly Sports Centre, with plans to start kayaking sessions on the river in late March or early April.
Activities: Carrick Paddlers organizes regular kayaking sessions on the River Suir, catering to all skill levels from beginners to advanced paddlers. The club also participates in and hosts local events to promote water sports and community engagement.
