Carrick-on-Suir Brass Band

For generations, the Carrick-on-Suir Brass Band, under a succession of different names, has been part of the weave of community life through parades, processions, concerts, recitals, funerals, matches, regattas and civic events in the town and hinterland.  It has been suggested that Fr Matthew of the Temperance Movement helped establish the Carrick Temperance Band in 1840 in what is now the Town Hall and a Town Band has existed ever since.

The Band performs regularly at local churches, leads the St Patrick’s Day Parade, performs during the annual festival, welcomes Santa to turn on the lights, visits nursing homes and town centre for carols on Christmas Eve in addition to numerous other special events. The Band also compete annually in the South of Ireland Band Championship.

The Band Room is located to the rear of the ETB Centre at Greenside and practice is 7.30pm to 9.00pm every Tuesday night.

New members are always welcome.
