Alison Cronin Dance Academy opened in September 1988, offering children and teenagers a professional training in Ballet, Jazz, Modern Theatre, Tap, Contemporary and Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) in a fun and safe environment. All Students are encouraged to reach their full potential, build their confidence and creative skills and are given opportunities to perform in our annual shows and local performances including Charity Events, Fashion Shows and Festive Occasions. Students are also prepared for Ballet Examinations with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D), an Internationally recognised professional teaching organisation. Our highly trained and qualified teachers have a wealth of experience in teaching and performing. We have a passion for the art of dance and for helping others discover their inner dancer. Classes in Carrick on Suir are held on Saturdays.
Carrick Camera Club was founded in 2008. We meet every second Tuesday in The Nano Nagle Community Resource Centre, Carrick-on-Suir, E32 P928 with a break for Summer and Christmas.
We strive to pass on our photographic knowledge to our members through practical meetings teaching camera skills, the use of software, in house competitions and outings. We host the ‘Suir Valley Photographic Challenge’ every year, a competition we started to promote friendship with other like-minded camera clubs.
We are affiliated with the Irish Photographic Federation. Our main aim is enjoyment while also learning for all our members.
ND Photography, led by Noreen Duggan specialises in portraits and arts-focused photography. With a Level 6 Advanced Qualification, Noreen teaches phone photography, empowering both teenagers and adults to capture compelling images that highlight Carrick’s tourism offerings. Noreen’s passion for creative photography extends to cyanotypes, a process she’s eager to share in future workshops. ND Photography blends technical skill with artistic vision, offering both traditional and innovative photography solutions to the community.
