Oral Storytelling at Meany’s Shoes with Explore Carrick-on-Suir

On Thursday, September 18, Explore Carrick-on-Suir hosted Part 2 of its special Oral Storytelling Sessions at Meany’s Shoes, 84 Main Street. For generations, Meany’s has been part of the town’s heartbeat — fitting shoes, sharing stories, and witnessing the everyday lives of locals since the 18th century.

This session brought people together inside the shop itself to share memories, laughter, and reflections on a business woven into the fabric of Carrick-on-Suir. Stories were recorded for the Tides of Time Oral Archive, ensuring they are preserved as part of the town’s living heritage.
