Explore Carrick-on-Suir is proud to announce its nomination for the 2025 IPB Pride of Place Awards, one of the most respected community honours on the island of Ireland. The news follows a vibrant summer of local activity, community participation, and an inspiring judging visit that showcased the town’s spirit, collaboration, and creativity.
Organised by peacebuilding charity Co-operation Ireland and sponsored by IPB Insurance, the awards recognise and celebrate exceptional community development projects across the country. Now in its 23rd year, Pride of Place highlights the dedication of citizens who make their towns and neighbourhoods better places to live, work, and connect.
Explore Carrick-on-Suir’s nomination reflects the collective effort of local volunteers, businesses, schools, sports organisations, cultural leaders, and residents who continue to drive positive change. From festivals and heritage initiatives to youth entrepreneurship, town centre regeneration, and the Explore Carrick-on-Suir tourism programme, the judges praised the town’s strong collaboration and forward momentum.
A delegation from Carrick-on-Suir will attend the Pride of Place Awards Ceremony on Friday, 7 November, at the Limerick Strand Hotel, where over 500 guests from across Ireland will gather to celebrate the finalists.
This nomination is a tribute to everyone who plays their part in strengthening Carrick-on-Suir — showing what’s possible when a community works together with pride, resilience, and a shared vision for the future.
We look forward to representing Carrick-on-Suir on awards night — and celebrating all the inspiring communities who make Ireland such a special place to call home.
