The countdown has begun for this year’s St. Patrick’s Festival in Carrick-on-Suir, an event that promises to bring people together in a spectacular celebration of heritage, inclusivity, and community spirit. Under the theme “Unity, Community, and Collaboration,” this year’s festival will showcase the heart and soul of Carrick-on-Suir and its 3 county Hinterland, ensuring a St. Patrick’s celebration like no other.

The festival, organised by Explore Carrick-on-Suir in partnership with the Municipal District, will feature a vibrant parade, friendly competitions, cultural performances, live music, food stalls, and family-friendly activities, all designed to celebrate the strength and creativity of our community.

Honouring Our Grand Marshals

Leading this year’s parade with great pride will be our Grand Marshals: Special Olympics Ireland and Athletes along with Joseph O’Brien Carriganóg Racing. Their leadership, dedication, and commitment to excellence reflect the community spirit. We are honoured to celebrate them as they take center stage in this momentous event.

A Call to Get Involved!

The St. Patrick’s Festival is a community-driven event, and we invite local businesses, schools, sports clubs, community groups, and individuals to participate. Whether it’s by joining the parade, enjoying the festival entertainment, hosting an activity, volunteering, or supporting local performers and competitions there are plenty of ways to be part of this incredible celebration.

Students taking part in the Explore Carrick-on-Suir Entrepreneurial program are also encouraged to march under the ‘Journey of an Idea’ banner, showcasing their community, and entrepreneurial projects and creative contributions to the town. This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to gain exposure and demonstrate their innovative spirit to a wider audience.

Why This Year’s Theme Matters

  • Unity – Bringing together people of all backgrounds to celebrate our shared identity.
  • Community – Strengthening local connections and pride in our town and hinterland.
  • Collaboration – Working together to create a meaningful and memorable festival for all.

As Carrick-on-Suir continues to grow as a hub for tourism, business, and culture, this festival is a perfect way to showcase our communities. By standing together, we can create a celebration that reflects our town’s energy, resilience, and vision for the future.
