Advertisement: Visitor Centre Manager for Tides of Time – Stories of a River Town Carrick-on-Suir
An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead Tides of Time – Stories of a River Town, a new immersive visitor experience opening in May 2026 in the historic setting of St Nicholas Church and graveyard in Carrick-on-Suir.
Developed by COSDA CLG in partnership with Explore Carrick-on-Suir and supported by Fáilte Ireland and the EU Just Transition Fund, this landmark project will bring together heritage, storytelling, and community to create a vibrant cultural and tourism destination. The centre will include an interactive exhibition, café, curated book and gift shop, the Michael Coady Study, and a programme of cultural events.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated and capable individual to lead the day-to-day operation and ongoing development of the Visitor Centre.
This is a hands-on leadership role, combining operations, visitor experience, team management, and commercial oversight. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high-quality visitor experience, growing visitor numbers, and establishing the centre as a cultural hub for the town and wider region.
About You
You will have experience in tourism, heritage, cultural or visitor attractions, with strong organisational and leadership skills. You will be confident managing a public-facing operation, passionate about storytelling and place and capable of working collaboratively with partners, community groups, and stakeholders.
Key Details
- Salary: €38,000 – €45,000 (depending on experience)
- 3-year fixed-term contract (subject to funding)
- Full-time role (37.5–40 hours per week, including weekends)
- 20 days annual leave plus public holidays
