Carrick-on-Suir English Quest

Welcome to Carrick-on-Suir!

Your Mission

Explore the town, practise your English, discover some of its stories and complete the challenges.

You will work in teams.

At every stop:

    • Take a team photograph as soon as you arrive to prove you have reached the location.
    • Send the photograph straight away to your teacher on WhatsApp before beginning the challenge.
    • Then complete the challenge.
    • If there is a special Photo Challenge, take a second photograph for that challenge.
    • Speak English within your group as much as possible.
    • When speaking to local people, take turns asking the questions so that everyone in your team gets a chance to practise their English.
  • Be polite and respectful to local people.
  • Stay together as a team at all times.

Time: Approximately 75–90 minutes
Start and Finish: Town Park

BEFORE YOU BEGIN – IMPORTANT ROAD SAFETY

Remember: cars drive on the left-hand side of the road in Ireland.

When crossing a road:

    • Use a pedestrian crossing whenever possible.
    • At traffic lights, only cross when the pedestrian light is green.
    • Stop and look carefully in both directions before crossing.
    • Never follow another group across the road without checking for yourself.
  • Stay together as a team.
  • Do not use your phone while crossing the road.

No challenge is worth rushing across a road.
